"Citizen Data for Transformation"

We help organisations collect, manage, analyze, and use citizen-generated data to advance inclusive policy, accountability, and evidence-based development.

How We Strengthen Citizen Generated Data

AGDHI works with CSOs, communities, government institutions, and development partners to improve the production, management, and use of Citizen Generated Data.

CSO Capacity Building

We train Civil Society Organisations in ethical data collection, data quality, digital tools, reporting, analysis, and use of Citizen Generated Data for advocacy and accountability.

Data Governance & Ethics

We support CSOs to apply consent, privacy, anonymization, ownership, data-sharing agreements, and ethical review processes when handling citizen data.

GERDH

We support a shared data infrastructure called the GERDH Gender Research and Data Hub) where CSOs can contribute, organize, analyze, and publish Citizen Generated Data, tools, reports, and policy evidence.

Data Standards & Quality

We help CSOs strengthen methodologies, metadata, indicators, taxonomies, validation, de-duplication, and data quality checks to make data more trusted and usable.

Research & Policy Evidence

We translate citizen data into policy briefs, dashboards, insight reports, human-centered stories, and decision-support tools for government and development actors.

Partnerships & Ecosystem Building

We convene CSOs, government, academia, civic technology actors, and development partners to strengthen Uganda’s Citizen Generated Data ecosystem.

Building Civil Society Capacity for Citizen Generated Data

AGDHI supports Civil Society Organisations to transform community voices into credible, policy-ready evidence. Across Uganda and East Africa, CSOs generate valuable information on governance, health, education, gender equality, environment, service delivery, and accountability. However, this data is often fragmented, inconsistent, and underused in decision-making.

AGDHI bridges this gap by building CSO capacity in data collection, quality assurance, ethical data governance, analysis, reporting, visualization, and policy engagement.
